Kaufman CAD will be open and conducting informal meetings with taxpayers. However, due to current health concerns we will not allow people to wait in our lobby. We will require you to join our online Queue and wait at home, outside or in your vehicle. A text will be sent when an Appraiser is ready to meet with you. This system will update you on approximate wait times and will stop allowing entry when we have reached our daily capacity. You can access our queue by either clicking on “Join the Queue” on the bottom right of this homepage, by texting “Kaufman County Appraisal District” to 972-972-9819 or by calling our office at 972-932-6081 and asking our staff to add you to the Queue. Estimated wait times vary based on the number of taxpayers in the queue. Standard text messaging rates may apply. Cell phone numbers will remain confidential.
REMEMBER TO RENDER! Taxable property renditions are due April 15th. If you own tangible personal property that is used to produce income, such as the equipment or inventory owned by a business, this applies to you. A rendition is a report that lists all of the taxable property that you owned or controlled on January 1st of this year. This often applies to furniture, fixtures, equipment or inventory owned by a business. Filing is your responsibility. If you render late, don’t render, or file an incomplete or false rendition, you may face a 10% to 50% penalty. You can file your renditions at Kaufman Central Appraisal District located at 3950 S Houston Street or by mail to PO Box 819 Kaufman, Texas 75142. If you file by mail your rendition must be post marked no later than the April 15th deadline.
