Due to a positive COVID result within our office we are closed until Monday, July 13th. Any Appraisal Review Board Hearings scheduled from July 6th through July 10th will be rescheduled to a later date. All hearings with a date and time after July 10th will be held as scheduled. You will be notified of your revised hearing date and time by first-class mail. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
The Kaufman Central Appraisal District is currently continuing operations and we are committed to being responsive to the community. However, we believe it is in the best interest of the public and our employees to limit face-to-face contact. KCAD has opened the doors but will practice social distancing by limiting the number of people allowed in the building.
Please keep in mind values on the appraisal notices are as of January 1. Any impact to market value due to factors during the 2020 calendar year would not impact appraised values until the following year.
If you believe there is an error with your appraised value, we encourage you to file your protest. This can be done either online, by mail or delivered to the drop box at our building’s front entrance. The deadline to file a protest will be on the front of the notice. If you didn’t receive a notice, the deadline was May 15th.
You will be able to send and receive information via the online portal once an online protest is filed. We want to encourage everyone to use our website for information and any forms you might need. Email contact information is available at email@example.com. We will be available by telephone at 972-932-6081 as well.
We will be starting in-person hearings mid June. They are being scheduled every 15 minutes. You may also elect to have your hearing by telephone or by affidavit. Property owner’s affidavit of evidence, Form 50-283, is available on both the State Comptroller and this website under Forms. Please mark your protest form accordingly.
